Okay, I read some diaries and I'm in a better mood.
I should confess that I'm not a complete scrooge or grinch or whatever: when I first heard the piano playing whatever spritely song it was playing, I did feel happy until I remembered that I was really grumpy.
There are some really great things about our species, and about how even the smallest things can be worth a smile, and there really isn't any reason why I can't spend the next week watching for those moments of kindness and goodness that I know are all around me. I can watch for all the badness and ugliness in January.
